TITLE:  Overflowing Creativity, A Reflection of Myself

ARTIST STATEMENT:

This poster symbolizes my creativity. Below are the elements and symbolization.

Each element in the poster represents a piece of this narrative:

  • The figure (myself): As the subject who creates ideas with creativity

  • The water: Symbols as the overflowing ideas from the subject

  • The bubbles: A little burst of joy.

  • The shatters: Symbols as the shatters of glass overflowing myself

This poster symbolizes my creativity. The flowing water represents my personality and the ideas that overflow from within me. The shattered pieces reflect how my ideas can push beyond my perceived limits, encouraging me to explore everything life has to offer. The surrounding bubbles symbolize the fleeting yet delightful moments of joy in life. Like bubbles, joy may be short-lived, but its presence adds beauty and excitement to the journey.

Reflection

Through this project, I aimed to express my creativity and personality visually. Each element in the poster was inserted to symbolize parts of my journey as an individual. The figure representing myself, the flowing water as my endless stream of ideas, the beautiful bubbles of joy, and the glass shatters breaking through limits, all came together to tell a story that feels deeply personal to me.

When making this poster, working with Photoshop came naturally, as I could apply skills I had learned from previous projects. Techniques I used like using clipping masks, adjusting curves for exposure, and overlays were used. However, moving into After Effects for animation was a new and more complex challenge. Navigating unfamiliar tools and encountering errors tested my patience and problem-solving skills. Despite these difficulties, the process has taught me a lot especially about the importance of exploring new techniques to enhance my work.
