Digital Surrealism
Realism vs Surrealism
Realism takes subject matters of the ordinary and common world which we call
"reality." We can see the true illustration of pictures in real life.
Surrealism is a twist of realism. It explores the subconscious mind, all
the illustrations are more likely to be a dream, according to the artists'
idea which are illogical.
Surrealism are dream-like and symbolic images. They are made using
imagination, that is why it doesn't make sense.
Dadaism
An anti war art movement with art works that is satirical and
nonsensical in nature
How to make Digital Surrealism
- Sketch it out
- Draw the key elements we want to include roughly, like what we dreamt of
- Find reference images
- Find reference that suits our sketch
- Having a "unreal and real" mindset
- Surrealism images are tend to be nonexistent, they are in humans' imaginations. However, by looking at the images, it should look convincing that it is real
- Just go for it
- May seem challenging, but use it to upgrade skills.

Poster Design
Part 2: Poster sketch
I made 2 sketches using the photography I have:
- By using Contrast and Curve, I edited so there would be more highlight on the object
- Increasing the saturation and vibrance, also adding photo filter, so the Ice cream would look more vibrant
- Adding shadow underneath with elipse tool so it looks more real
- I used Generative Fill to remove the objects unwanted
