Tutorial
Students were given videos of Photography basics.
Below are the videos:
Basic Photography
- ISO - Camera Sensitivity Sensor - Scene
- the higher ISO, more sensitive to light, keep it low
- more ISO, more noise
- outdoor (100 ISO), indoor (400 ISO), based on location.
- Aperture - Subject
- The size of the opening of camera (f/stops)
- higher number, smaller hole, less light
- controls depth of field, higher f/stop, large depth of field (the focus)
- Shutter speed - Motion Blur
- how long the shutter is open
- slower shutter speed means more motion blur, if faster, less blur
Image too Dark - Slower shutter speed, lower aperture, higher ISO (respectively)
Image too Light - Lower ISO, higher shutter speed, higher aperture (respectively)
Product Photography
- Learn the product
- what does the client want?
- what is the product material?
- 50mm lens is preferred for product photography
- Photography Setup
- Composition with the background, what to stand out
- Good lighting, make sure product is clean
- set the shutter and ISO
- Using properties
- more properties to create depth to the product
- Editing
- Using presets
- Editing the exposure, highlights, shadows, hue and saturation
- Mask to make the subject pop
Product Photography (2)
- Approach lighting with simplicity
- Set up the shot
- Background
- making the background at certain angle would make a Tonal Range (not flat)
- Camera placement
- Lighting
